Throughout the past four weeks I've learned about the history and impact of scientific visualization, and how they are used practically. In school, we use things such as maps, computers, the internet, and tons of other examples. I think that written language, the internet, and maps have advanced our understanding of the world the most. Written language is pretty self explanatory, without it we'd probably be communicating with ropes and knots or something else primitive, which would make it exponentially difficult to share ideas on a wide scale. Maps have shown us new lands, new concepts, and let us set up a framework for anything. The internet lets us connect to each other almost instantly, sharing ideas which broaden our world view and change how society works.
